Default How To Get To Heaven When You Die

ARE YOU 100% SURE THAT IF YOU DIED TODAY THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?

There are some things that you should know:

    1. Realize that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior:

Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

This all began with the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect, there was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sin entered into the world. The pain which this world sees is the result of sin.

    2. Because of our sins, we die both spiritually and physically, but God sent His Son to die so that you can have a chance not to have to go to hell by accepting what He did on the cross for you:

Ro 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Ro 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. for us."

Every person who has ever lived is a sinner and is not righteous because we do bad things. A sin is a crime against God, just as if you steal something at the store, it is punishable by going to jail. It's the same thing with sin. Even if we lie one time, the punishment is hell, which is a prison for those who commit crimes against God. No matter how well you live your life from then on, you have already committed a sin which will be punished if you are not pardoned. If you commit a crime, and then live as a good citizen you still will go to jail for the crime you committed. Right? Just as the president can pardon a crime so you won't go to jail, Jesus can pardon your sins so that you do not go to hell, and can go to heaven when you die.

    3. If you will confess to Jesus Christ that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior, accept Him as Lord and Savior and believe in your heart that He died on the cross and rose from the dead you will be saved.

Joh 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”

Ro 10:9,10 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.."

You cannot get to heaven by being a good person, going to church, baptism or any other way other than by turning to Jesus and asking Him to forgive you for your sins and save you. While these are good things to do, some people believe that they will get to heaven if they do these things, but the bible says that there is only one way to heaven and that is through receiving what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you.

Will you do that today? If you will, you can be 100% sure that you will go to heaven when you die.

DO YOU BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED ON THE CROSS AND ROSE FROM THE DEAD FOR YOUR SINS?

ARE YOU WILLING TO TURN TO JESUS CHRIST FOR SALVATION?

    4. If you are willing to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior please humble yourself before God and pray this prayer to Him from your heart:

"Dear LORD JESUS, I believe that You died on the Cross and Rose from the dead for my sins. I ask you to come into my heart and forgive me for my sins, take me to be with You when I die. I now receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus holy name, Amen."

If you prayed that prayer to God, and meant it with all of your heart, you are now a child of God and will go to heaven when you die.

Now that you are on your way to heaven, you should attend a bible believing church and follow in baptism.

I feel like I need to get back into church... I haven't been in a while and feel awkward about going back... I don't know if this is the place to post this or not.

I think gambling is only a sin if you are hurting the people around you... Not just gambling extra money

Never feel awkward about returning to church bro.

Its called a sactuary for a reason.

As far as sinning by gambling, we all sin everyday and will continue to do so till there is 6 foot of dirt put on top of us. Thats why Jesus was nailed to that cross on calvary, so that are past, present, and future sins would be paid.

Our debt has been purchased by the father thru the son, once you accept that your spot in the kingdom of heaven is secured.

As far as baptism, i recommend it, but no where in the bible does it state that its a must. My take on it, if Jesus felt compelled to let John the Baptist baptize him, then I would follow suit.

Nice to see a thread like this, no bickering, no hate. The sad thing is, no post either. That is very sad IMO

Here's my thing.I believe 100% in God but I don't have the same faith in church as I do in God.I have tried to go and even joined a few but it's so much like a business now that the good ole country church i was rasied in ain't the same.Last time I went,I went in with the attitude of I'm here to worship Christ and thats the only reason I'm here. But then they hound you about joining a Sunday School and we need donations for this and that.I just want to find some place to worship Sunday morning and then leave and go about my week.Does anyone else feel like me?

I know what your saying Vols, a church I went to asked me to pledge an amount per year and then to let them automatically deduct it from my checking account. It then began to feel like a Visa bill instead of "Giving". Then they asked for additional amounts for diferent projects on top of it. It never seemed to end.

A church is a business. Like any other business they have to have money to operate, maintain facilities, pay salaries, fund programs, etc.

Well said Garth. It is called tithing or giving back some of what you have been blessed with. My wife is the book keeper at church and she constantly does not have enough money to pay their bills. Do you know how many bills a church can have depending on their size? Guess what, can't afford to tithe??? Many churches would welcome to have your abilities to do other things like usher, help serve communion, teach Sunday School, serve on church committees, etc... Just ask how you can help with your time/talents and I'm sure they can come up with something for you. Never thought I would or could, but I'm teaching 6th grade Sunday School this year because they could not find enough teachers. To give to church hurts a lot less than giving to a bookie and if you can afford to wager and not afford to give back for the blessings that you have, you probably really don't believe anyway.

Phillip, I would recommend finding a larger church, one you can get lost in. The smaller church makes it easy to spot new commers, a large one they dont notice you and you can just blend in to worship. Smaller churches do need financial support, they cant offer services to the community with no monies.

Dont let small things like being hit up for money and joining a Sunday School class stop you from worshiping. Like I said, you live in Atlanta I believe, I have no doubt there are churches there with congregations of 3-5 thousand people or maybe even bigger. Go there and dont tell anyone your new so you dont get hit up to join anything and just worship buddy.

I go to a large church, I like it, when I started going I went for alot of the same reasons you stated.

Well said Phil, I dont have 10 % right now to tithe, but I give 5 - 7 % for now and I serve in two capacities at the church as a volunteer. My churh does amazing things for many in the community that are less fortunate and does extensive missionary work all over the globe. That takes money, and I am glad to give back to God what is already his to begin with.

Tell your wife to hang in there when the bills pile up at the church, God will handle it buddy.

guys, you're somewhat missing the point. Church's strive on donations... you can give as you please and however much you please. The way my church does it and I believe the correct way to do it is to give back just a little of what god has given and provided for us for the growth of his kingdom. I do admit some churches are a bit "political" and have swayed from the whole normal church stuff. I myself am Christian and I go to a great church that never pressures anyone to do anything and only encourages you get involved with the church. It's never a bad thing to hang and worship with people with the same beliefs and life path as you. It makes you feel great and some of my great friends I have made from church. That whole bank account thing is fine as long as you obviously determine how and when it comes out. For instance i'll give $5 every sunday, so if I want them to deduct $25 each month from my account its the same as me giving each sunday... just easier for me because If I dont happen to have $5 than I know at the beg or end of the month it'll come out of my account.

Pledges are done so that the church can budget for the following year. The automatic deductions are done because it saves the church money and they also know that they can count on receiving money on a consistent basis, not just when people show up to church. It really helps in the summer when a lot of people go away every weekend and are not at church to physically put in their envelopes.
