NBA - Denver Nuggets (-4) over Seattle Supersonics

The Nuggets welcome the 34-39 Sonics to Pepsi Center Tuesday night looking to end a two-game losing streak. Denver's most recent loss, 85-83 against the Jazz on Saturday, came down to a buzzer beater by Utah's Carlos Arroyo. Rookie Carmelo Anthony had another big game for the Nuggets, dropping 25 points in the defeat. The loss put Denver one game behind Utah for the eighth spot in the Western Conference. Every game going forward is big for this team and they are well aware of that. Carmelo's squad will be fired up for this home matchup.

Denver, winners of 3 of their last 4 against the spread, is an offensive powerhouse on their home court, averaging 99.4 points per game. On the defensive end, they allow 92.8 ppg at Pepsi Center.

Ray Allen (23.3 ppg) has been on fire for Seattle, most recently dropping 32 in Saturday's 115-108 loss in Portland. However, Denver's D has been consistent at home this season while Seattle's D has been atrocious on the road allowing 99 points per game. Marcus Camby, fifth in the NBA in blocked shots (2.62 per game) and twelfth in rebounds (9.9 per game) will be a difference-maker in this matchup.

The Sonics, despite their recent run, seem to be just out of reach of the eighth spot. The Nuggets, on the other hand, are in a fierce battle with Utah and Portland for a playoff berth and do not be surprised to see young Carmelo step up big time as he has all year in this game. Denver is 25-12 at home this season and the house should be rocking on Tuesday.

We like the home favorite here. Take Denver laying the points.
